Gurmeet Marwah

Gurmeet Marwah’s art works are sarcastic narrative expressions which are both personal and societal. The satire in his works serves to resolve his inner conflicts. He uses animals and objects as symbols as well as crucibles of emotive content. The docile and passive cow lives off waste created by man, the image of Gandhiji is irreverently used whereas he stood for his simplicity, the donkey represents obstinacy against all odds and the owl symbolizes legacy and a sense of nostalgia. Desire is another subject in his works and symbols like the heart, crab and fish are used as metaphors to depict human behavior.
