Suhas Roy’s canvases are primarily dominated with the female face and form and create a balance between sensuality and innocence. His works are usually inspired by life around him and his themes though influenced by his everyday world inhabit a dream-like and romantic aura and rooted in fantasy. This graceful portrayal of his subjects whether it is his ‘Radha’ series or his depiction of Christ has much to do with his choice of materials – his crayons, charcoal and brush have sensitivity and refinement.
