Gulammohammed Sheikh

Gulammohammed Sheikh is an artist, poet, writer and art critic. His art works are firmly entrenched in the figurative narrative tradition. He rejected the abstract and non representational and focused on a visual language that discarded influences while being open to experimentation. He draws images from Indian and European art as well as political events to create his own narrative. He has always been inspired by Kabir, the legendary poet, and a lot of his art shows a relationship between his own images and Kabir’s words.
