Each of Mimi Radhakrishnan’s paintings has a story to narrate – perhaps as she is herself a story teller. Each figure in her canvas has a name, each character emerging from simple events or travels and thus the painting recounting a tale. Whilst executing her paintings, apart from being an artist and story teller, her experience as a print maker is evident in the borders which frame her paintings, like a detailed sari border or shawl and the background textured with print-like motifs.
