Ranjit Sarkar

Ranjit Sarkar’s works are a confluence of impressionism, surrealism and romanticism of Indian traditions that brings to life the vibrancy of Indian heritage, festivals, costumes and culture through the brilliant use of colour and form in his canvases. According to Sarkar his works have a dramatic representation of a mix of mythology, culture and religion that expresses concerns of the relationship between human passion and the surroundings. The colours, dynamism and movement of his canvases can only make the viewer yearn for the simplicity of Indian values and culture all over again.
