Sudhanshu Sutar’s paintings and sculptures are representational of his roots from Orissa and the subsequent time he has spent in Delhi. His imagery is a combination of rural psychological influences and his complex survival in a large metropolis. He uses this experience to show the plight of humanity and naïve idealism in the face of modernization. Each work depicts a different environment with a hidden undercurrent and meaning with themes such as food, deforestation, nature, liberty and freedom dominating his works.
