Ashok Bhowmick

Ashok Bhowmick’s works are predominantly figurative and has a close proximity with the social and political situation in West Bengal. A distinct feature of his works is his manipulation in the rendering of his images which makes them appear inactive or lifeless – a sense of silence that pervades through most of his paintings. Bhowmick likes to call his work ‘ revivalst’ – a means of connecting with people.
